I must say... I was tempted to buy a new camera for myself the other day. But I felt it would be such a waste of money since I have a DC and my father has half-given me his DSLR. What more can I ask for?
I'm just a curious freak who wants to experiment with new gadgets all the time. But I'm supposed to be saving money for... not sure. Everything. And I've already spent SO MUCH on make up and skin products recently (yes, can you believe it, my feminist side has finally emerged, after 21 years).
After browsing through countless websites on cameras, I've settled for the best option- to make the best use of what I already have. I found that the thing that motivated me the most was seeing other Internet users using their D40x and taking amazing pictures with it. I was a bit sceptical of it before because it certainly doesn't have the most positive reviews, compared to other pricier, newer and brand-different options. It is supposed to be a good entry level camera, but as my father rightly put the other day, technology has advanced so quickly that new ones just cannot compare to what I have now.
Alas, if others manage to take wonderful pictures with it, why couldn't I (except for the obvious reason of TALENT, and hopefully, practice :P)? I'm determined to make the most out of it. If I truly think I deserve a new camera because I have the ability to utilise it, then I will get a new one. But I certainly am not of that view currently.
I was even tempted to buy a new prosumer type DC, too, after the thought of a new DSLR left me. But then I really do not NEED it. And it's so expensive. I'd be better off saving one or two thousand and get a DSLR instead. But since, I've already discarded that thought, there is no question that I'm not going to buy any new cameras any time soon. YAY!
Anyway, they say practice makes perfect. And since I've downloaded Picasa just today (before my equity exam, how lovely), I'm going to be uploading random photos I take from now on.
In fact, you know what, I'm really in no mood to study any more today, and it's admin law, so no, no more studying today. I will be heading out to do some good shots. YAY! see you.
